This work I made through the course Google UX Design Professional Certificate

Phase 1: Empathize with users

Research goals: to understand the habits of Brazilians when buying coffee online. Search triggered in communities of coffee lovers on Facebook, for my network of contacts on LinkedIn and personal WhatsApp groups.

I got 83 answers, and the data transformed in graphics you see bellow:

Creating personas

Creating personas

Based on the research data, I extracted some main problems to solve and goals to reach with the coffee app. They were added inside the personas' pain points and goals.

Problem statement

Leuza is a lawyer who needs a recurring coffee delivery subscription because she wants to receive monthly at her home the variety of coffees she likes.

Diogo is a nurse who needs to schedule the times he will receive their coffees because he works at alternative times than the commercial ones and wants to receive them when he is home.

Phases 5: Test

  • Mission 1 - add Baggio medium roast coffee chocolate with hazelnuts with 7 day recurrence, Saturday, delivery between 6-9pm

  • Mission 2 - track order delivery

  • Mission 3 - enter the recurrence manager

After drawing the prototype, I invited some people who answered the survey and accepted to participate in the test to navigate through the prototype and try to complete 3 different tasks. I studied their feedback and improved the prototype, relaunching a second test round.

Constraints I faced and lessons that I learned

Constraints I faced and lessons that I learned

It was fun to do this project!
I had some constraints related to my technical abilities to build and implement a design system, but I watched tutorials and learned everything I needed to come up with a cool and useful DS for this project.

I also learned that the iteration phase is very important for the process. Users came with a lot of amazing insights, which I implemented in the prototype. In the last usability test I did, users were very satisfied with the platform they were navigating and didn't have complains to point to me.

I had a scenario I didn't preview coming right after implementation: medicines can have difficult names to say and write, and the voice search listener doesn't get correctly all the words people are saying.

So, I needed to do a manual treatment and correct the most popular terms people were searching by voice and were not having a return. It is a machine learning that needs training, but that will work well after it.
